Celebrating Apprenticeships at BEMA
A highlight in the BEMA calendar is the awards evening for the apprentices, employers, parents and staff giving recognition to the progress they have made towards their apprenticeship and career in engineering.
Swatpro has welcomed 26 new engineering apprentices to its prestigious BEMA training centre near Bristol. The 2024 cohort work for 15 different West Country employers and will start by learning the basics at BEMA's well-equipped workshop under the supervision of its expert trainers, before taking their skills to their employers, still under day-release training and supervision from Swatpro Engineering specialists.
BEMA - the name stands for the British Engineering Manufacturers Association - has been in existence since 1936 and has trained thousands of highly skilled staff for local aerospace and other engineering sector firms.
Swatpro courses at BEMA have proved a big hit with trainees, aware that the engineering sector provides excellent career opportunities with a good wage structure. Employers tell us they particularly like the way Swatpro apprenticeships are tailor-made to suit individual needs. Right now, the British economy is short of tens of thousands of trained engineers and engineering apprenticeships not only tend to be better paid than other training positions, but also tend to lead to very worthwhile and secure careers.
