Overview of Role Full Description

To build & install mechanical sub-assemblies in accordance with supplied drawings/specification sheets. Complete work in a timely manner and to meet the machine build timeline.

Duties include:

  • Bench Fitting Work
  • Set-up & alignment of machine frames
  • Set-up and alignment of tooling, to achieve specified tolerances/capability
  • Functional testing and fault finding
  • Use of conventional machine tools (lathes, milling machines, grinders, etc) and hand tools as appropriate
  • Identify & communicate opportunities to enhance quality and reduce cost
  • Support visits to customers as required to commission & test machines, and resolve problems
  • Work with and support other departments to ensure business objectives are achieved
  • Ensure statutory and company procedures & practices are maintained
  • Promote a safe working environment
  • Booking of time to assigned work
  • Other duties as may be required
